When traveling to Seoul, Hongdae is definitely the top choice for accommodation. It’s convenient for transportation, offers plenty of delicious food, and you can shop until midnight with no problem. However, Hongdae hotels generally have a fatal flaw: the rooms are too small, and it’s hard to find a comfortable “quad room” suitable for four adults.
For this Seoul trip with my college classmates, we stayed at the Amanti Hotel Seoul. It’s only a 10-minute walk from the liveliest area of Hongdae, offering convenience while ensuring a quiet night’s sleep.
The highlight is this quad room’s “separate living room + two large double beds” configuration, along with a large bathtub for a relaxing soak. It solved all our problems of needing space to open our suitcases, eat fried chicken, and chat.
For four adults or family travelers, this hotel is simply a dream find in Hongdae!

Transportation Guide: How far is Amanti Hotel Seoul from the subway station?
Amanti Hotel Seoul is located near Exit 1 of Hongik University Station on Subway Line 2. While it’s not right at the exit, the walk is quite pleasant:
- Walking Time: It takes about 10-12 minutes to walk from the subway station at a leisurely pace, with plenty of cafes, convenience stores, and fried chicken shops along the way.
- Surrounding Area: The hotel is situated on the quieter side of Seogyo-dong, away from the bustling main street of Hongdae (Exit 9) with its nightclubs and noise. There’s a convenience store nearby, along with the famous Yeongdong Potato Rib Soup, making it a very convenient location.
- Airport Bus: If you take Airport Bus 6002, it’s also very convenient to walk over after getting off at Hongik University Station.
Hotel Lobby: Simple and Elegant Design
Located on the 4th floor, the hotel lobby combines modern simplicity with an elegant texture.
As you step out of the elevator, you’re greeted by a spacious and bright area with a highly designed lounge.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows bring in ample natural light, complemented by dark stone walls, giving the lobby a stable yet unoppressive feel.
The area is furnished with tasteful gray sofas and eye-catching yellow cushions, paired with round wooden and marble coffee tables, creating a homely and comfortable atmosphere.
Room Unboxing: Rare “Small Living Room + Two Double Beds” Configuration
Opening the door, the first impression is: “No need to worry about over-shopping, four people can lay their suitcases flat in the room!”
Independent Small Living Room Space
Unlike typical business hotels where the bed is right at the entrance, this room type features a cozy small living room area.
It includes a set of comfortable sofas, a coffee table, and a TV.
This is so important for a group of four!
In the evening, you can bring back fried chicken and beer, and everyone can sit around in the living room to enjoy snacks and chat, without all squeezing onto the bed and worrying about dirtying the sheets.
There is a slight separation between the living room and the bedroom, adding more layers to the space.
The space is so large that we can even play Rummikub here (yes, we brought Rummikub abroad with us, thanks to GN).
Two Comfortable Double Beds
The bedroom area is furnished with two standard double beds.
The bed is moderately firm, providing excellent support.
The best part is the room’s lighting. Although the floor isn’t skyscraper level, there are no tall obstructions around, so you can enjoy an unobstructed view of Seoul’s cityscape through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. On a clear day, the expansive view is truly uplifting.
Bathroom space: A bathtub for soaking
In downtown Seoul, finding a hotel with a “large” bathroom is already challenging, let alone having a bathtub in a Hongdae hotel, which is truly rare.

In this room type at Amanti Hotel, the bathroom space is very spacious, so you don’t have to worry about having too many bottles and jars for multiple users.
Even after spending an entire day exploring Hongdae, when your feet are about to give out, soaking in a hot bath at night is the ultimate luxury on your trip.
Hotel Facilities: Rooftop Garden and Pool
Besides the excellent rooms, the public facilities are also a highlight of Amanti:
The check-in counter is located on the 4th floor, next to an open-air outdoor pool (Urban Island). Although we didn’t use it, having a swim in the heart of Hongdae must be a rare experience.
Amanti Hotel Rates: How much does it cost to stay in a “Grand Suite” in Hongdae?
Many people worry that the price of an Emily Theme Suite with a separate living room and large bathtub at Amanti Hotel might be prohibitively high.
Here is the actual price I booked for 4 nights in June:
- Room Type: Emily Theme Suite (Two Beds)
- Total Amount: NT$ 22,614 (including taxes and fees)
- Average per night: Approximately NT$ 5,653
Split among guests, it’s only about NT$ 1,413 per person per night.
In the prime real estate area of Hongdae, getting a space that can fit four suitcases and a five-star bathtub for less than NT$ 1,500 is truly a great value!

If you’re a couple or solo traveler, there are many affordable guesthouses in Hongdae. But if you’re on a family trip, bringing your parents, or if 4 friends don’t want to stay separately, Amanti Hotel Seoul is definitely the top recommended accommodation in Hongdae.
- Pros: Spacious rooms, living room, bathtub, quiet environment, high-quality staff (English communication available).
- Cons: About a 10-minute walk from the subway station (not extremely close), but within an acceptable range.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the busiest shopping main street in Hongdae (Parking Lot Street, Strolling Path). It’s a “quiet in the midst of the hustle and bustle” location, making it convenient for shopping trips, yet peaceful for a good night’s sleep.
The hotel itself does not offer a free shuttle service. It is recommended to take the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) to Hongdae Entrance Station, or take the 6002 Airport Bus to Hongdae Entrance Station, then walk or take a taxi (starting fare) to the hotel.
This type of room with a “living room + two beds” is limited in number and highly sought after. If you have confirmed dates, it is recommended to book 2-3 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
Yes! There are 7-11 and CU convenience stores near the hotel, making it very convenient to buy water or instant noodles in the middle of the night.
